The COVAX Advance Market Commitment (AMC) is a global initiative, hosted by Gavi, which supports the equitable distribution of safe and effective COVID-19 vaccines to low and middle-income countries.
The COVAX AMC has delivered over 1.4 billion doses to 86 developing countries around the world, including over 250 million doses to countries in Southeast Asia and the Pacific – the most up-to-date figures can be found here.
Australia has committed $215 million to the COVAX AMC and offered to share at least 10 million of Australia’s own doses, subject to COVAX’s needs and demand from participating countries.
Australia’s support to COVAX is a key pillar of our commitment to bolstering regional and global health security, and complements Australia’s existing dose-sharing and delivery support efforts in the Indo-Pacific region.
