Australia’s Partnerships for a Healthy Region initiative is helping countries in the Indo-Pacific to have higher functioning human and animal health laboratories so that they can test for and monitor priority infectious diseases. This will create in-country capacity to detect and diagnose diseases quickly and accurately.
Working in partnership with Australian and regional experts, we are implementing projects that will improve the quality of disease surveillance, testing and diagnosis, train staff and build towards internationally recognised laboratory quality standards across the region.
