Better surveillance systems in our region will mean that potential disease outbreaks are identified and investigated more quickly. This will result in a faster response, which can prevent illness and save lives.
Australia’s Health Security Initiative is helping countries in the Indo-Pacific to expand the number of diseases and the number of locations from which data is collected, to improve the quality of data that is reported and to upskill decision makers to analyse and use the data.
