The National Association of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Workers and Practitioners (NAATSIHWP) will deliver the Regional Indigenous Partnership: Collaboration for Primary Health Care Workforce Strengthening in Vanuatu project under the Partnerships for a Healthy Region initiative. The project will be undertaken with Ni-Vanuatu partners and approached in ways that prioritise Indigenous self-determination, co-design, and relational approaches. The project will share best practice First Nations strategies to support local stakeholders to advance the Vanuatu Village Health Worker workforce by drawing on the experiences of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Worker and Health Practitioner workforce professionalisation. The project design focuses on relationship building between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Worker and Health Practitioner workforce representatives and Ni-Vanuatu Village Health Worker Program representatives providing opportunity for the collaborative identification of co-designed strategies to advance Vanuatu Village Health Worker roles and to establish professional networks to strengthen connections, promote reciprocal learning and drive ongoing professional dialogue.
