Our Impact So Far
• Australia has provided vaccine delivery support though UNICEF for strategic communications to encourage vaccine uptake and mitigate hesitancy. UNICEF has adopted approaches to ensure communication materials are inclusive, representative and accessible – including to address language barries and for people living with a disability.
• In collaboration with the World Health Organization, UNICEF has conducted risk communication and community engagement activities and interpersonal training for 85 State and District health officers to build communication capacity for the COVID-19 vaccine rollout.
• Australian funding has supported research on public health communication, and vaccination perceptions and behaviour to inform effective communication strategies. This research is a collaboration between UNICEF, Malaysia’s Ministry of Health and the University of Malaya, has been used to inform the Ministry’s communication strategies.
