Our partnership with the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry (DAFF) is addressing the chronic shortage of qualified animal health workers across the Pacific and Timor-Leste. Together, we are working towards the regional goal of a paraveterinary workforce that is adequately and sustainably trained to support local livestock productivity and regional biosecurity.
This means supporting paraveterinary trainings across the Pacific and Timor-Leste, in partnership with regional education institutes, the Pacific Community (SPC), Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH) and the New Zealand Ministry for Primary Industries.
Through these partnerships and initiatives, we are building the capacity and sustainability of the paraveterinary workforce, ensuring they are well-equipped to address the livestock management and biosecurity challenges in our region.
